Resolved -
We have deployed further fixes to the NGINX config to resolve issues loading localised versions of the site, and to alleviate load on the origin server. We are confident that this should fix all intermittent 404 issues users were experiencing when accessing nodejs.org.

Update -
At this time we believe we have a working fix in place for the 404s being returned when downloading Node.js. We continue to see improvements in Cloudflare graphs.
We are aware of a related issue with localized pages on the website and have a fix planned for this that will likely be deployed tomorrow.

Monitoring -
A further fix has been put in place to solve the intermittent 404s. We are actively monitoring the origin servers and Cloudflare, and are seeing 404 response rates drop off. We'll continue to monitor the situation.
